Schwangerer Bauch

A doula (ancient Greek for servant) is a non-medical support for women by women. Doulas have existed in many cultures around the world throughout history. A doula accompanies a mother emotionally and physically during pregnancy and during and after birth - a temporary friend (with birth experience), in the sense of

mothering the mother

The following studies confirm the positive effects of doula support:

  • shorter birth duration
  • lower intervention rates
  • higher satisfaction with the birth experience
  • positive effects on bonding, breastfeeding success, and couples’ relationships

My Vision

Just being there, providing support, and accompanying your birthing journey without reservations.

As a DiA Doula, I accompany women throughout the birth process with mindfulness and experience.

Through my continuous presence and encouragement I contribute to a positive birth experience for you and your partner.

As a doula I support the midwife and the birth team - together for a birth in safety and dignity.

Doulas never replace a midwife!

How I accompany you

During pregnancy - I am happy to walk this path with you and help you to make your decisions based on facts.

My on-call duty as a doula usually begins 14 days before the expected due date and ends when the baby is born.

Continuous presence at the birth - I am there for you and your partner exclusively, I do not speak for you, but I remind you of your plan, support you, and encourage you! It is possible to organize a backup doula. She will step in if I cannot be there for the birth for personal reasons - this does not involve any additional costs for you.

Visit after the birth - here we can discuss your pregnancy and the birth again in peace and look back at the process retrospectively. Perhaps you would like a closing ritual?

Nobody knows everything, but everyone can ask - I have a large network of specialists that I can draw on.

As a member of the Dia-Doulas in Austria association, I am happy to commit to our code of ethics .
